THE ANCIENT GREEK AGORA
The center of any Greek town was the Agora. Here, local merchants sold their wares. With the growth of the Greek Empire, wine, spices, and foodstuffs from afar soon became available here. This was also the city’s social hub. People came to listen to Athenian orators, including the statesman Demosthenes, and philosophers such as Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato.

HILL OF THE MUSES
Where is the best, most sought-after angle for photos of the Acropolis Propylaia and Parthenon? If you said from the Acropolis, Plaka, or your hotel’s rooftop, you’re wrong.
