See Sounion, the Temple

The main reason people come to this area is to see the Temple of Poseidon.

That by itself is worth seeing.

On a clear day, you can see Sounion from several miles at sea.
You can see the temple long before you arrive.

 

With each step the temple gets larger, causing awe in the people coming to worship.
The walk from the main gate is approximately 15-minutes.

 

The approach and the scale are both for the dramatic first impression.
